Where to measure

• Whole installation — a PRO 3EM at the board gives total consumption and, on three-phase supplies, balance across phases.
• Per circuit — PM-equipped relays report the load on each individual circuit.
• Per appliance — metering plugs identify specific offenders such as an ageing fridge or AC unit.
